about

"It is a common cry of the Psalms that God would awaken us (Psalm 57:8-11). If we are not awake, that is not good. Revelation 3:1-2 says, “I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die.” We will know that we are awake if we desire to see God’s glory and do his will. The truth is that we don’t do this perfectly and so we can always ask God for this—and we should desire this (1 John 2:3; Philippians 2:12-13; Matthew 7:15)." This is a snippet of a blog post explaining this song, the full version can be found here: citylight.church/music/2018/11/29/prince-of-peace-prince-of-peace-theology/

‘Prince of Peace’ is CityLight Music’s second recording. It was recorded in 2018 at a women’s worship night in which the women of CityLight gathered to worship God and record songs written primarily by the women of the church.

lyrics

Lyrics
Like the early sky awaken us
Rouse our hearts from the deepest sleep
To see Your glory upon the earth
Help us live as Your hands and feet

Lord, your glory fills
All who seek You first with gladness
In your faithfulness
You will strengthen and uphold us
Remain near to us

You plant the seeds and call us to move
Across the soil reaping unto You
Praise on our lips as we see Your truth
Nations, Lord, You will make anew

Lord, your glory fills
All who seek You first with gladness
In your faithfulness
You will strengthen and uphold us
Remain near to us

When our eyes can’t see
And we fail to speak
Help us rise again
When our hearts condemn
Let Your word stand firm
Let Your truth defend

When our eyes cant see
And we fail to speak
Help us rise again
When our hearts condemn
Let Your word stand firm
Let Your truth defend

Lord, your glory fills
All who seek You first with gladness
In your faithfulness
You will strengthen and uphold us
Remain near to us
